No reports of causalities to Sri Lankans have come to light due to the attacks on Tripoli and other targets in Libya by Coalition forces so far and any kind of information will only be available in the coming days, Mr. Sarath Dissanayake, Director General Public Communications of the External Affaires Ministry told Daily Mirror online
He added that around 1000 Lankans were already repatriated to Sri Lanka according to their request earlier this month, while Sri Lankans currently in Libya are staying there voluntarily.
"We will facilitate the safe return of any Sri Lankan if they request to come back home," Mr. Dissanayake said.
The Coalition forces started assaulting anti -air and air facilities of pro-Gaddafi forces during the weekend. Missile and air attacks were conducted on more than 20 key military targets to disable attacks on Coalition Air assets and to enforce the no-fly zone in the Northern parts if Libya.
