The SupremeSAT(Pvt) Ltd said the telecommunication satellite that was launched last evening in China was a joint venture of the China’s state owned CGWIC and the SupremeSAT(Pvt) Ltd and was not a state sponsored one.

“It was a joint private venture of our company and the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) and there was no connection with the Sri Lankan government,” the Chief Executive Officer of the company Vijith Peries said. (SJ)
