One person died in an accident on the Southern Expressway when a pick up overturned at the Welipenna exit near the 53rd mile post, in the early hours today, Police said.

This is what happens when people go at 120Kmph and suddenly realize that the exit is 20 feet ahead and take sudden turns. I also understand that some people do speeds up to 160+ which is very dangerous. This is a hard lesson learned with life. I hope more people drive on highways to get the taste of high speed driving, but then use that to understand the risks of it.

Also to be concern the CONDITION OF YOUR VEHICLE to run at high speed for longer period.

yes...also most Japanese family cars (toyota, nissa etc) even thou can technically speed upto 180 kmph, they are not optimized to handle speeds of over 120 kmph...in other words these cars are not mainly designed for the purpose of high speed...so little maistakes such as sharp turning, cornering and sharp braking can produce equally sharp and unpredictable results...

What about starting a driving school specially for highway driving.
Or at least hand out an instruction manual at he entry points.
