Pasada, Shan Wijayalal top in Matara, Galle



UPFA candidate Pasanda Yapa Abeywardana, the son of Investment Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana, has topped the preference vote list from the Matara District and former Chief Minister of Southern Province Shan Wijayalal De Silva has received the highest number of preference votes in the Galle District.

Accordingly, Pasanda has received a total of 76,870 votes, while Chandima Rasaputhra has received 70,509 preference votes.

Former UPFA Matara Municipal Councilor Chathura Galappathi, who crossed over to the UNP has obtained the highest preference votes for the UNP in Matara District with 27,930.

Former SPC member Geetha Kumarasinghe with 26932 also able to elected for the Southern Provincial Council obtaining the 8th place in the list.
