Paswan joins Vaiko's stir against 'genocide' of SL Tamils

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday joined the protest led by Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) chief Vaiko against the alleged 'war crimes' committed on the Tamil community in Sri Lanka by the Mahinda Rajapaksa-led government.

At a protest rally organised in New Delhi by Vaiko to protest the Central government's silence on the killings of innocent Tamils, Paswan slammed the Congress party for its apathy towards the atrocities.

"Genocide is being done against them, I am surprised that why the Indian government is not condemning it when the UN (United Nations) panel has already condemned it and held Rajapaksa for this crime," Paswan said.

Extending solidarity with the Sri Lankan Tamils, Paswan also pledged that his party would raise its voice for the cause both inside and outside the Indian Parliament.

"There should be resettlement outside the camp for the Tamilians in Sri Lanka. Lakhs of people have been killed. Here, if any person is killed like four farmers were killed in Maharashtra then the government is in doldrums, but there lakhs of people are being killed and nothing has happened," Paswan said.

"So, for all these demands, I from Lok Janshakti Party can say that we will go to the people and I assure you that outside the Parliament, inside the Parliament we will fight for the cause of the Tamilians in Sri Lanka," he added.

Paswan further urged Vaiko and his supporters to organise a nationwide rally to gather support from people against the brutal killings of Tamils by the Sri Lankan soldiers. (ANI)

Why is it that everbody in this world wants to tell Sri Lanka what to do. Leave Sri Lanka alone. Sri Lanka has a democratically elected President and Parliament why can't the other countries clean their own back yard before poking their nose into the affairs of Sri Lanka. India has so many problems. What about Kashmir? Poverty? IDP camps in Tamil Nadu. Let Vaiko and Jayalalitha take care of these problems before telling Sri Lanka what to do.

Mate, sure China, Iran, etc., have human rights issues, which is a fact. But Western Countries are worse, they brag on about their advanced weaponry, but look at how many civilians getting killed there. Majority of attacks are deliberate.

Why should we listen to West? Do you seriously think we will bow down to the west and listen to what they say and have them linger around SL? Sure the formed SL presidents made a mess of SL and are no different from LTTE; but at least MR is helping the Tamils in SL. This takes time man it's no easy task, so why don't you come down to SL and help instead of talking like this man.

You want to live with us peacefully? You're welcome. You want to wage another war with us? Well, You're more than welcome. We welcome any fight. You are either against us or with us.

Where were these AIADMK, MDMK & Jayalalitha when the LTTE were terrorizing & killing the innocent tamil people.
They wiill be silent if the LTTE were still controlling these areas.
Do they have any idea we the tamils are free & haapy now in this area.
I think they want to bring back the separatism & LTTE.
