Power and Energy Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi was admitted to the Bandarawela Hospital due to a sudden illness, Hospital sources said.

She had been on her way to an election rally at the time of the incident.

According to sources she is currently being treated at the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) and is out of danger.
