The private bus strike scheduled to be launched midnight in the Western Province has been canceled, the Lanka Private Bus Operators Association said a short while ago.

Association’s President Gemunu Wijeratne said that they have decided to cancel the strike after a senior government minister agreed to meet their demands.

today the bank interest rate for fixed deposits is 8% per annum.
but almost whole sri lankans are travelling in buses bought by the owners on loans borrowed at 30 % interest rates.
that is why we pay such high fares for travelling in buses.

We fought old Prabha but the government is no match against the private bus union. They can bring the government to their knees over night!

So another failure by the government means harder times for the public. The wheels of the bus go round and round eh ?
