Police tear gas water protestors

Police used tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse some thousands of protestors in the Belummahara junction on the Kandy road, a short while ago.

A tense situation arose since this afternoon, with protesting villagers turning violent over drinking water issue due to the disposal of waste water from a factory.

Our reporter said several people were injured during the incident.

Thousands of protestors don't believe it I guess may be forty to fifty trouble makers who are been paid we all know by who. Western conspiracy written all over it. I'll wait for Friday copy of Daily Good News from Lake House to get the real truth. Next thing some reporter will say someone been shot by the Army or the Police.

You stupid...........how come this is thuggery ? When a main road is blocked and restricting vehicle movements, effecting innocent public , how if you got caught in this situation in a bus for hours..... will you say ok lets get to the streets ? think about general public. Army action not going behind protester but to clear the road does not mean thuggery.......go and baby sit to violent protesters you moron ....
