Puttalam DS assaulted by protesters
The Puttalam Divisional Secretary and his driver were alleged to have been assaulted by several villagers in Kaladi.
The Divisional Secretary was in the area to check out a protest over a villager being killed by an elephant.
The protesters blocked the Kurunegala - Puttalam main road.
Meanwhile Puttalam Secretariat workers have launched a protest over the attack on the Divisional Secretary.(Pix by Hiran Jayasingha)
