Department of Meteorology issued a weather warning today predicting that there would be heavy showers accompanied by strong winds in the coming days.

The department said the North, North Central, Uva and Central provinces would be the most affected by these showers and high winds.

The sea was also predicted to be rough in the coming days.

The highest rainfall (130.5mm) -was recorded in Tanthirimale, Jaffna had received  96.mm of rain, Mihintale 54 mm, Aralaganwilla 47.5 mm and Anuradhapura 50.9 mm during the 24 hours ending at noon today.(YP)
