Ranil, Karu, Sajith to meet on Tuesday

The widely anticipated meeting between UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa and former Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya is scheduled to be held on Tuesday October 15, at party headquarters Sirikotha.

The meeting comes after a marathon Working Committee meeting which lasted close to six hours last week with the decision to appoint a leadership council.

Earlier rumours were rife that Premadasa had declined to participate in the meeting, but when asked he told the Daily Mirror that he would be present.

"I'm going with a very open mind and with the sole and singular objective of ensuring that the United National Party emerges victorious," he said

However, sources said the agenda of the meeting has not been set as yet.

The meeting comes in the backdrop of a widespread call for reforms within the country's main opposition party after it received a drubbing at the recent Provincial Council elections.(Hafeel Fairsz)

Ranil has experience,brains and support of urban voters. Sujith has mass support especially at provincial level. Karu can get back worthwhile UNPers who joined UPFA with him and after.
As Rajitha said before he left UNP, all three must capitalize their own strengths together and try to win.
here must be one voice to get the confidence of masses.
