The government is to introduce a service of tax reforms including the reduction on VAT from current 20 percent to 12 percent, cabinet spokesman Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said at the press briefing today. (SAJ)

As per my knowledge VAT was @ 12% already (As I remember this was reduced to 12% from 15% before 1 years back) except for Financial service & luxury items. That also reduced to 12% from 1st of January 2011. So which change is he referring?
