Retired Inspector General of Police Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya has been nominated as the Sri Lankan ambassador to Brazil. The name of Dr. Balasuriya has been submitted for the approval of the Parliamentary Committee on High Posts by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
This position has become vacant due to the return of the former ambassador A. Sadique a senior officer in the foreign service before the end of his term.
Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya resigned from the IGP post this (June) month. (Thilini De Silva)

Wara, don't u read newspapers atleast by chance? Brazil is one of the fastest developing countries in the world. A member of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India & China) group. We need an ambassador in that country. But not an idiotic fat pig like this one.
