Rather than this cleberations, if they can arrange some bodhi Poojas, and some religiouse ceremonies in mosques, kovils and churchs to pray for all victims and brave soldures, would have been much better and can save the money. And also what is the meaning for this celeberation when the hero is in jail.... in arabic they call it "Hafal Bidoon Batal" Celeberation with our the hero....

Isn't this going a bit too far? Imagine the inconvenience to the public. Spend that money for the war heroes.

I agree with lankashantha, this is unnessacery spending, well that is what our leaders always do, Spend that money on those who were really affected, However, this is not a complete victory as the tamil problem remains unsolved

Dude..You better know, As far as SF is concerned he was just a one of FOUR chiefs.. Navy,Air-force,Police rendered a massive support to Army in eradication LTTE.. MR played the leading role as the commanding chief of the armed forces.. So,here only one person can't be labelled as the hero.. All the worriers who fought with the LTTE deserved the same respect.. In this juncture what should do is paying our tribute to those who made dedications on behalf of our motherland.. even though we couldn't bear the inconvenience caused by closing roads for few hours, innocent families of those who died bear the pain for ever.. May this celebrations bring a relief for those who are suffering so.. they are deserved this
