The Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union is back in the international rugby scene after the International Rugby Body (IRB) reinstated full membership, the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union said.

The International Rugby Board earlier stripped the Sri Lanka's rugby union of full member status after it failed to conduct board elections in accordance with IRB bye laws.

The decision followed concerns regarding the governance and management of the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) after it missed a Jan. 31 deadline for elections in line with its constitution, the IRB said in a statement. (Daily Mirror online)

Good news! But why sports are so badly affected & Politicized in SL, specially Cricket & Rugby? Its only a game! guys. And the fans always get penalized..! We as fans, deserve it to be 'played' better. So one request to the administrators.. So please play fair!

Rugby union officials too busy with elections & constitutional chnages. What an excuse. If they want to distroy this game let the defence secretariate acquire it.
