Sanath Jayasuriya and Chaminda Vass have been excluded from the 15 member Sri Lanka cricket squad for the 2011 World Cup, Sri Lanka Cricket board officials said said a short while ago.

15-man squad for the Cricket World Cup in February-April:

Kumar Sangakkara (captain), Mahela Jayawardene (vice captain), Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva, Chamara Kapugedera, Angelo Mathews, Tissara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis and Rangana Herath. Why Vass to been dropped. He is doing well unlike Sanath. People were objecting of Sanath being selected. What selectors have done is totally wrong. This means even Aravindra is confused about whole thing. Good luck Sri Lankan Cricket

Sanath could never have made the squad with the form he was in, it would have been a shocker if he was included, he was my favorite cricketer but i think he ruined his image by not retiring and entering politics.what a shame.Vaas did perform quite well but i can understand with kule and malinga in he didn't have much of a chance

I believe that Aravinda made mistake by not selecting inform Chaminda Vaas for Thisara Perera or Dilhara Fernando. Chaminda Vaas is a expert in subcontinent pitches.
