The second test between Sri Lanka and Australia ended in a draw, after rain washed out the days play with only 35.3 overs possible.
Sri Lanka began the day on 223 for 2 with Kumar Sangakkara (69) and Mahela Jayawardene (38) occupying the crease. Sangakkara was dismissed without adding anything to his score, after he was caught in the slips by Captain, Michael Clarke off the bowling of Ryan Harris. Mahela Jayawardene added 13 runs before he was caught in similar fashion off Trent Copeland, and a controversial moment followed when Clarke claimed he took the catch cleanly, but Jayawardene wanted it referred. Replays showed that the catch was taken cleanly and Sri Lanka lost their fourth wicket.
Prassana Jayawardena joined Thilan Samaraweera at the crease, with the Australians sensing victory and though both batsmen put up a fight were dismissed for 11 and 21 respectively.
Intermittent showers then put an early halt to the game, with Angelo Mathews (11) and Suraj Randiv (4) at the crease.
Michael Hussey was adjudicated the man of the match for his 142 in the first innings.
The two teams will now play in a series decider at the SSC which starts on the 16th. (SMD)
