Former army commander Sarath Fonseka has instructed his wife and children not to appeal for a pardon on behalf of him, as he had done nothing wrong, Anoma Fonseka told Daily Mirror online.
I visited my husband today (08th) after a special request was made and he told me not to apologize as he had done nothing wrong. “If we did something wrong it was compulsory to apologize and if we didn’t we need not do so” Anoma Fonseka said. (Daily Mirror online)

I think he's done the right thing. But dear readers - we must accept that as much as what hapenned to him wasn't 'fair', those who are 'shouting' to get him out are the very people who dragged him in to this - UNP and JVP. So, even if there has to be a movement to get him out of jail, please let that not be through UNP and JVP.

Wow, my hats off to you Sir! That was absolutely what the country was expected from you. Don't apologize to any one, unless you are guilty. You have to maintain your tuff leadership you demonstrated, during the war. Because we badly need a one with straight spine!
(PS. Getting SF to apologize, was what the government wanted, whether he would be released or not. Because then they can tier him to pieces by proving that he was guilty and had no courage to face the sentence. In that term, even SF got released, he would be humiliated in public and be cornered like never can rise again.

Its funny the govt of Sri Lanka says that if convicted and santenced Ex General's family ask for pardon, he will be forgiven, will this be applicable to others, what Govt"s this gustrure proves that Govt have some other motives and resons for sending the the person who have done a great servics to the counrty.
6 44
farook Saturday, 09 October 2010 03:13 AM
Absolutely!!! When one is innocent why should he apologize.
There are so many UNP'ers who have pole vaulted to the government side and also the PA members who are guilty of so many wrong doings and yet they are leading a normal life. There is even a doc without qualifications who is practicing not medicine but a fine art of thuggerism and yet gets away with everything.

This pardon and apology are simply to strike on the face again. Rajapakses once said SF is the best commander but, SF was not swayed a bit. Once that did not work to silence anyone exposing Rajapakse regimes’ own crimes, they turned around and stigmatized SF as a criminal. If it is a real guilt by a criminal or traitor should he be relieved of his wrongdoing by just apologizing to the head of state? It sounds everything is because of Rajapakses’ ego wrapped in enigma.

Tender Issues : The General has done nothing wrong according to the evidence given by Govt servants.
US$ Notes : To help the campaign to get rid of this corrupt regime.
Danuna T. : Is hiding in fear of his life, as there is no law & order in this country under this criminals.
