Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat in its first ICC World Cup match against Canada at the Sooriyawewa International Stadium, a short while ago.

The Stadium was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapaksa before the commencement of the match.

why did you waste the time by elected to bat, you won the tos and should have bowled. then match would have finished half time.
