These people are looking for "pornography" not "sex" that comes along with "love". It is a because of the lack of "openness" in the SL culture. 'Sex" is supposed to be hidden, bad or restricted which makes them even more curious.

Lets face it, all this would stop if the sex trade is legalized and is freely available. The legal restrictions frustrates humanity. Look at the list of countries, all have restrictions by law against brothels and sex workers. Liberal, enlightened attitudes sex would stop frustrated people searching on the internet for an outlet denied by law. This is the double standard.

"sex" is much better than "war". If Lankans move away from war-mongering and towards sex-mongering, that would actually count as progress.

When we are sexually exited, In srilanka we just search, but in foreign they don't need to. They call their girlfriend or boyf and enjoy.
So it is not bad as having pre-marital sex or teenage pregnancy...which happens in other European, American, African and middle Asian nations.

You are right.
Let’s start with the obvious one - Adult names
From a 2011 Business Insider report: "Let’s put it this way, the keywords sex, porn, free porn and porno pretty much blow any other keywords out of the water. The amount of exact match volume for these 4 terms alone is 22,820,000 searches a month. Individually they are
[porn] 11,100,000
[free porn] 7,480,000
[sex] 2,740,000
[porno] 1,500,000
Again, this is almost 23 million searches a month just for these 4 terms.
Note: "Sex" #3

Interesting to note how we just play this as a 'keyword and language' issue instead of recognizing the real issue. We are naturally curious about sex, specifically because it is such a taboo subject in our culture. Parents are shy to talk about sex with their kids because when (most) adults think 'sex' : they think of all the inappropriate ways that 'they' had to learn about the subject. This fascination and so called 'addiction' to sex is NOT something that came about because of the internet. The internet, like it has done for many other human fascinations like Art, Literature, Cars and Technology, is only a means of accessing information (good/bad/ugly) about something no one talks about. We need to do is to END this unnecessary glorification of sex, end all the fussing. Just educate the kids (AND all these so called adults) and let them recognise sex for what it really is; a beautiful biological process that needs to be respected and tolerated in order to be enjoyed.

Simple question. Does "Sex" is the only word that can get porn pictures & videos? That is the only thing matters.
2 0
ind Thursday, 26 December 2013 04:35 AM
Exactly. We can use lot of other words to search those things. Nude, Porn and so on. They (surveyors) have purposely missed other words and check only sex! Also very unusual that we as tiny little nation tops where as India with huge population in below us, US, UK with lot of IT facilities to public with rather huge population are below us. Remember internet usable people are very few in Sri Lanka with the total populate.

ind Thursday, 26 December 2013 04:27 AM
No. Be positive. This indicates that we have to go to internet to see these things while other countries have them in public. They don't need to search in Google.

What is wrong in watching porn. If it should be stopped. Then it should happen in its own way when the people are routedto other options like clubing, dating, blind dating, casual sex, or getting married quickly, etc.. Which one is better is choiceof person.

One of human needs. If SL have a good education on SEX these will not highlight. Because hiding and shy about educating sex was turned to bad side here in our country. Compare other big countries. It is fare that our morons searching how sex happens. Human has the right to search and express their thoughts and that is not a world record. These shows us how our nation stand on SEX and that why we have more rapes too among our community. Open your third eye..

Teenage sex is "the usual" in "west". Sex before marriage is also "usual" & divorce is also as "usual", so sex is nothing for them. In Sri Lanka, sex topic is taboo in the open. Sex before marriage is tantamount to "murder", divorce is a disgrace. These makes Sri Lankan's to search "sex" on the sly.

Kama Sutta was not written in the West nor sculptured any of those erotic postures in their historical master pieces. They put only the David in nude but that was just artistry. Though Davinci tried, but it is only the romanticism. We were masters of this game time immemorial. Whatever said and done - it is of course methodology of reproduction and if that stops this blue planet, third rock from the Sun will stop forever. Sex is a such a beautiful thing if it is embedded with love, where art and science thrive looking at human anatomy curves and curvatures and its ambience with its symmetric.

To look into this matter in a different angle, it must be inferred that all the countries topping this list are (i) 3rd World countries, (ii) Sex is considered aaa taboo, (iii) Photography is banned, (iv) prostitution is banned and (v) Religious influenced is comparatively higher. Therefore, it is important that relevant authorities strike a balance at least here in SL and take the frustration out of the people before the ground situation gets worsen with, rape, molestation, etc.

There are always anti Sri Lankan elements...But how do you know that's the exact situation? you mean to say only Sri Lankans are looking at these sites? There must be other key words to determine the actual situation. It's better that Google look for all key words and make the judgement.. This is misleading information.

When compared to children of some other countries I have visited, ours are not that bad. Our use of smartphones and other gadgets are much lesser than them. Here the issue is, people of other countries, where English language is widely used, use specific words to search for porngraphy and related materials. But, our people just use the word 'sex'. So, SL have become the top in using the word 'sex'. This doesn't mean SL is the worst country in the world in terms of porn industry. I don't think anyone here will say that our children are worse than Americans and South Africans. However, I do agree that becoming top in this kind of thing is not a good sign.

This is not a matter to laugh & it shows the sexual unrest in the minds of the youths in Sri Lanka. Its time to rethink about the cultural barriers imposed on them on LOVE & SEX.
