i'm not a great admire of this minister but what he had told here gives some sort of comfort to me as a cricketing lover. Whoever it is if a good thing is done in good faith we appreciate it. HOPE FOR THE BEST IN SRI LANKA CRICKET!

So the minister agrees that there is financial crisis. Last sunday in an interview Nishantha Ranatuge Denied this in an interview.
Thanks Minister but need a comprehensive change not kicking some innocent small members out and retain the rogues on top.

Can you name one proactive? That era is over mate but this minister is not that bad. Actually he is active but he is lack of knowledge and admn qualities. He can get the work done though, besides there are other inferences which many ministers cannot admit for reasons we all know.

Please tell what is the most suitable ministry for him, considering his qualifications ? In fact, overlooking his thuggery in Nawalapitiya that Dr. Amunugama knows.

My Dear Chintha, in Sri Lanka threr are three distinctive types of people. 1) the proactives or those who can see whats coming, 2) the re-actives or those who get fired into action after the event and 3) those who sit and watch the world go by. You tell me to that category these high talking Ministers fit.?

Anotehr set of jokers will come and ruin Sri Lanka cricket. They should have an election giving all clubs to vote and select a board who can run the board effectively without any corruption.

People like Ana Punchihewa, Renzie Wijetilake, Hemaka Amarasooriya were good administrators who did justice to the Gentleman's game. The ruination stated with people who were appointed and hell bent on making money and then followed up with people in the present administration after Lokuge became the sports minister. They have political backing but coffers are empty after the world cup. . Bag loads of money have been robbed. There were unwanted expenditure to boost politicians. Now we are on the verge of been kicked out of ICC if proper elections are not held for 2012. Already India is not toeing the line with us on the SLPL .

This seems a white washing the dirty cricket missions to me. First of all, answer all the questions pointed at SLC, then punish the thieves, and then only appoint new. Else the current henchman would be thrived with all they earned underhand and still live freely. If its not your way of doing this, I feel you too had some share of the underhand businesses!!!

No point doing any change as long as this man is minister. Like in Education, Sports also needs a cultured minister. Someone who is a thorough , educated gentleman and not a sarong-johnny type of thug.

Instead of the fog of war, the fog of corruption and mismanagement obscure practically everything done by SLC. Stop appointing sycophants and hangers-on. Appoint administrators with experience in management, enhanced by actual cricketing experience. Cricket is a business. Run it with that in mind. Stop political interference. Give SLC a clearly defined mandate, assess prgress against that mandate regularly, hold office bearers responsible, have strong financial controls. Simple, when you know how.

Too late. The horse has bolted and u are closing the gate. The 2 new stadium will be white elephants. Cricket is going from the frying pan to the fire.
Cricket will come clean only if politicians steer clear of Cricket. In Australia even when Katich was unfairly sacke, the minister only criticized but did not interfere. That is why Aussies have remained on top .

Everyone is hoping that the Sports Minister will stick to what he says and have democratic elections to appoint officials to the SLC like it was done before by all the Clubs, At least they planned and ran the SLC without making it bankrupt like now. The simple fact that they have to answer to the Clubs with whatever they do makes these officials scared to do what the present lot are doing. We are all waiting to see what happens.
