SLTB bus fares up by 7%

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus fares would also be increased by 7% with effect from November 1, NTC Chairman Roshan Gunawardene said.

He said the amount of increase had not been finalized yet and said it would be announced by October 24.

I agree with this fair hike. I am not agree with the service what you provide. Increase again by 10% and give us good Service using comparable buses. please don't import Chakablas TATA . is too noisy. Sri-lankans are not concern the preice but concern about CTB service. see the ffacilities at colombo central bus stand, It is a hell. CTB and CGR same no Quality. remove tthe CMB bus stand to Paliyagoda and use unpolluted electric tramcar service.

1% each for excellent service,tidy clean buses,non betel chewing drivers and conductors,timely service,very good night service,polite bus crew and prompt issue of tickets and balance

We need service,Improve the service, Comfortable buses. You can increase the fairs by 50%. Most of the private AC buses and all most all SLTB buses are Ladaran. Stop standing passengers in AC buses.

This is not justified at all. The so called semi luxury buses run on long distance are charging exorbitant amounts which are very much higher than the normal fare but I don't see any such semi luxury facility. Passengers are jam packed during peak hours. No authority to monitor them. Anyway this increase will be approved in the Parliament by Ministers and MP's who have never got in to a bus for ages. Poor commuters are helpless. Another salient feature of Wonder in Asia.
