The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today said the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was not a perfect piece of legislation but should be enacted as it fulfilled people’s aspirations to some extent.
“Enacting the 19th Amendment is essential as something is better than nothing,” JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said.
Mr. Silva told a media briefing that the pledge given by the present regime was to abolish the Executive Presidency fully but there was no harm in slashing some powers of the Executive presidency if it couldn’t be abolished. (YP & DS)

JVPs attitude is highly commendable. We are however sad that Somawansa instead of uniting is trying to break up the Party like the other Wansa did. via DM Android App

JVP has really matured now as a responsible political party and walks the talk and talks the walk perfectly.
