The Sri Lankan diplomats attached to missions abroad and foreign observers who were here to monitor the presidential elections left the country from the Bandaranaike International Airport today.

Following are the several diplomats, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to France Professor Karunaratne Hangawatte, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Japan Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China Ranjith Uyangoda, Ambassador in Jordan Gamini Rajapakse, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Australia Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe and Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to Maldives, Neil Dias.(Deepa Adhikari)

Please replace these people with actual career diplomatic service officers. If we want to re-establish our respect internationally, then the people representing us internationally must be professionals.

Sri Lanka should be represented by highly qualified and experienced professional diplomats and not by ex armed forces heads nor government scoundrels!!

Only Qualified Civil Service personnel should man foreign missions, not bum suckers.

Every one should understand they were given the Positions for the service they rendered to the Country. Even Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda did a wonderful job by getting back the lost diplomatic relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka and also a lot of Japanese funded AID as well.He should be there to carry out further strengthening of our relations with Japan for the future betterment of our country.
