Kurunegala SSP Vaas Gunawardena was hospitalised following an overdose of medicine he took today, the police said.

According to the police the senior police officer and one time Director of the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) is now receiving treatment at the Kurunegala General Hospital and is in a stable condition.
