Fairly strong winds are expected to continue over the country, particularly along the western slopes of the Central hills while several spells of showers or thundershowers will occur in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Southern provinces, the Meteorology Department said.

The Department said thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Eastern and Uva, provinces during the afternoon or evening and temporary localized strong winds are expected during thundershowers.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Jaffna and Hambantota to Pottuvil will be rough and other sea areas around the island will be fairly rough at times.
