Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premjayantha today said he has never said that he would resign if it was proved that motor vehicle engines have been damaged after pumping fuel issued by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
Referring to a statement made UNP General Secretary, Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayaka that Minister Premajayantha must honour the pledge given to the effect that he would resign if vehicles got damaged following the pumping of contaminated fuel, minister Premjayantha said what he actually said was that the CPC would take the responsibility if vehicles were to damage after pumping contaminated fuel.
“I have never said I would resign in such scenario” Minister Premjayantha reiterated.
