The police are conducting search operations to apprehend or recover the body of a heroine suspect who evaded the police by jumping into the sea in Negombo this morning.

The suspect who was wanted in connection with handling heroin, escaped during a police raid on a heroin den in Negombo this morning. The police had given chase to capture the suspect when he had jumped into the sea to escape, police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online

The suspect is reportedly believed to have drowned in the sea in his attempts to escape the police. (Daily Mirror online)
