Increased emission test fee on buses suspended

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has agreed to suspend the emission test fee which was increased from the budget on buses, Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA) president Gemunu Wijeratne said.

Mr. Wijeratne said the decision was taken at a meeting held with Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama last evening.

He said the Minister agreed to suspend the increased emission test fee until the joint time table and pre-paid travel card system was fully established.
