Tharanga suspended for 3 months

Sri Lanka opening batsman Upul Tharanga has been suspended for three months by the International Cricket Council for using a banned substance during the World Cup.

The ICC said in a statement on Friday that Tharanga tested positive after the World Cup semifinal win against New Zealand on March 29 at Colombo.

His sample was found to contain metabolites of two glucocorticosteroids – Prednisone and Prednisolone, the ICC said.

Tharanga appeared on Friday before an independent anti-doping tribunal. (Agencies)

I'm happy that ICC understood Upul didn't take it to enhance his performance. i have a feeling that he is a victim of politics, can it be Jayasuya's reentry into the team at the expense of poor Upul?

Luckily he was only tested that day otherwise the whole team would have faced a ban today because all were getting WHITE's elixir's that why SANGA thanked him at the end of the finals press interview even we were beaten.

There are 02 sides that one have to be sure before Crucifying with comments. i.e.
1.) Whether taken with intention of enhancing performance.
2.) Whether taken on a prescription by a Doctor to cure Illness.

If no 2 then a solution and a policy must be set to be followed by all sportsmen/women in S.L. on this.
