A powerful Sri Lanka Freedom Party politician had reportedly wanted to join the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG), political sources said.

This politician was elected to Parliament at Monday’s General Elections, having obtained over 100,000 preferential votes. He has reportedly informed the UNFGG of his wish to join it.(Anjula Mahika Weeraratne)
