This is culture and arrogance of Sri Lankan society today. The child died due to ignorant behaviour. Look at Wesak day celebrations, where can you find a dansala that is feeding only beggars or needy or poorest of the poor? The dansalas are filled wih people who can afford at least a pound of bread. The roads are filled with arrogant boys cat calling and misbehaving on the roads. Is this what buddha preached?

Fireworks/crackers etc., should only be used with adult supervision, as its dangerous. In any case its noise & environmental pollution, besides being an utter waste of money

1. Fire Crackers and similar dangerous celebrations shall be BANNED immediately.
2. Religious celebrations such as New Year, Wesak , Christmas , Meeladunnabi , Eids, Thai Pongal , Maha Siva Rathri etc with a more meaningful manner avoiding funfare and showy nature., without the slightest inconvenience to the day to day activities of General Public by all means.
