Albino turtles to be handed over to the Zoo

Wildlife officials were today directed by Court to hand over the albino turtles that were being bred by Chandrasiri Abrew in his hatchery at Kosgoda to the Dehiwala Zoo.

Mr.Abrew who was arrested by the Matara Anti Vice squad on charges of making a false complaint to the Police was released on a Rs.15,000 cash bail with two sureties of rupees one million each by Balapitiya Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama.

Mr. Abrew’s passport was also impounded. His employee Daminada Namal Kumara was also released on a surety bail of Rs.500,000.(Hemantha de Silva)
