An assistant immigration officer and a prison official were arrested today for allegedly helping Kudu Chamara alias Nilan who attempted to flee the country yesterday, police said.

He escaped from prison custody on June 29 while receiving treatment at the Ragama Hospital and was re-arrested today at the Bandaranaike Airport.
