​Two SL refugees killed in TN



Two Sri Lankan refugees were killed in a road accident near Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu in the small hours of Wednesday.

Police said that M. Thiyagarajan (42) and his friend K. Sasikumar, both from Gangaikondan refugee camp, were returning home on a bike around 3 a.m. on Wednesday after work. When they reached Sankar Nagar, a speeding ambulance of a Madurai-based hospital hit the two-wheeler from behind killing Thiyagarajan on the spot. Sasikumar breathed his last at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital.

The ambulance was returning to its base after dropping a patient in Thiruvananthapuram.

Gangaikondan police arrested ambulance driver M. Ramasamy of Odaipatti under Tirumangalam police station limits in Madurai.
