UK introduces new fast-track visa service in SL

Britain has introduced a new fast-track Visa service in Sri Lanka with effect from June 24, 2013, the British High Commission in Colombo announced.

It said that “customers in Sri Lanka who apply for a UK visitor visa can request a brand new Fast Track visa service. For an additional fee of LKR 10,000 (including taxes), the Home Office will expedite the visa application and return the documents in 5 working days.”

Issuing a statement the High Commission said, “Customers may request this service if they are applying for a visitor visa (excluding student visas) and have travelled without difficulty in the last five years to one of the following countries: UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or a Schengen country.”

Customers can book an appointment online by visiting: www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk

Customers are advised to schedule an appointment in advance as there is a limited allocation of Fast Track slots each day. Customers with a normal online appointment may avail a Fast Track service without a separate appointment only if there are unallocated slots available.

This is a very good move by British visa authorities to facilitate the visa applicants to obtain their visas smoothly within the very short period of time.

this used to be a good country but not anymore. medical service is NIL. By any chance if you get ill you have to wait for 4-5 hrs in the hospital to get treated. and it's so expensive. so why do you want to spend so much travelling to UK.

Time to come, no slot will be available on normal services, it will be purely on fast track. These are tactics by the service provider and the high commission to squeeze maximum from applicants.
