The case filed against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera, United National Party (UNP) MPs R. Yograjan, Nalin Bandara and two others on charges of trespassing into a Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) building in Colombo 2 had been referred to the Attorney General for his advice.
Slave Island Police told Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage that the abstracts of the investigations had been forwarded to the Attorney General and were awaiting his advice.
They were also charged with attacking some members of the Nidhas Sevaka Sangamaya (NSS) and threatening them with a firearm during the UNP fact-finding mission at the SLPA building.
At a previous magisterial inquiry the Colombo Fort Magistrate ordered the temporary release of the suspects advising them to appear in Court when noticed to do so.
