UNP Western Provincial Council candidate Royce Fernando was arrested by the police today in connection with the Rs. 15 million-robbery in Negombo on February 17, police said.

Police said the suspect was arrested following the information received by another suspect who was arrested yesterday.

Police found Rs. 185, 000 in possession of the suspect at the time of the arrest.

An armed gang arrived on motorbikes threatened the owner of a Jewelley cum Money Exchange in Negombo on February 17 and robbed about Rs. 15 million.
