Victory Day jumbo won’t fly to Korea



The donation of the five-year-old baby elephant named ‘Dinuda’ to a private zoo in South Korea has been halted on the intervention of President Mahinda Rajapakse. 
 
The baby elephant was to be handed over to the South Korean zoo today. Minister S.M.Chandrasena said the President had ordered the immediate suspension of the donation. 
 
‘Dinuda’ is considered special as it was born on Victory Day (May 18, 2009). (Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa)
