Sanath Jayasuriya, the swashbuckling Sri Lankan World Cup winning cricketer, is the prime attraction on season 5 of an Indian TV’s celebrity dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa’, Indian Today reported .
The show, which garnered publicity a while back when Madhuri Dixit was confirmed as one of the celebrity judges, starts airing on June 4. Filmmaker Karan Johar and choreographer-filmmaker Remo D'Souza are the other two judges on the show.
"Sanath is extremely enthusiastic about his avatar as a dancer. He has been regularly rehearsing on the sets. He was very flexible and willing to learn while shooting a promo for the show. He is open to experiment," a source from the sets, said.
While it is rumoured that Sanath will be paid a bomb, the channel, however, refused to reveal details.
Sanath, 42, retired from Test cricket in 2003 and has lately been busy with politics. He is reportedly inspired by Rajinikanth's style of dancing and will try to bring alive the Tamil superstar's moves on the Jhalak dancefloor. On the show, he will be partnering a mentor-choreographer, whose name is yet to be revealed.
The show, the desi version of international dance reality shows, has in the past seen several sportspersons participate.
Meanhwile, another report said that, the all-rounder is being paid a hefty amount to shake a leg on the show.
Even though the Sri Lankan has no experience in music or dance, he has the rhythm, or so it seems as he jiggies with girls in a recently shot promo for the show, where he is seen wearing a white suit, white hat and golden jacket.

He was a cricket legend! Most of the time we watched a match just because he was playing. But little by little he is taking away the pride we had in him. When does he say enough! I don't need any more money or fame? This surely must be the road to zero from hero?

Don't be jealous. Jayasuriya hasn't bribed, lied or been pompous because of his fame. He is a down to earth man. Dancing is not an illegal thing and will bring some income to the country. If Indians respect him let them do so.

Go Sanath go. Don't worry about all these jealous people,.
This is the typical Sri Lankan way. If someone is having a go at something different, there are plenty of knockers. These people are backward armchair critics, and never experiment something. I wish Sanath all the best.

All these started around some 4-5 years Back,But never at the time of 1996-2002 era ,when so-called Cricketers from High Class families said "Mama Air tell walata maru wuna" there was not much Fuss ,because It was OK for them to do any shameless stuff,& then they give prestigious colin cowdry lecture reserved for respectable cricketers,But when Jayasuriya who is doing some thing every thing is Bad because He is supposed to always wear the sarong & Enjoy a kurumba while lazing at matara beach(so much for preserve his hero status...how hypocritical
How ever hats off to Arjuna who remained in his ethics, denouncing the IPL ,putting country ahead of anything.

Dancing is not permitted in islam. Therefore sanath jayasuriya is trying to be like the non-believers and now is very tragic. Should convert to islam and memorize the holy koran. the bestest book made ever.

Why don't you people see him as a multi-talented person.. What do suppose him to do? Eat-Drink-Sleep everyday like most of our Sri Lankans do?
This isn't connected to Politics.
You should have a personality to admire his confidence. What he's doing at the age, most of our people look foreward to retire, should be admired!

This is a disgrace, did you vote for him. What a laughing stock, a Sri Lankan MP dancing on Indian TV shows. Does he not have to do any work for the MP's salary that he draws.
The private members bill that is being brought up by the UNP should also include MP's from making such a mockerey of SL

Godei???? Can you define it in exact terms pls?
There should be no such thing as categorizing people as Godei or Posh! Everyone's a human and everyone possess his/her own rights... even to do whatever one likes as long as it is not illegal! To be born to a rich aristocratic family doesn't always produce a useful human to a country.
None's perfect. even he has his mistakes but look at how far he has come from the begining. You wont ever get close

Do you really think it is ethical to do all these things ( commentry , dancing and playing cricket ) while been a MP? People elected him to do a service to the community not for his pocket. If he is a down to earth person he should first resign from parliment then do all these things. Stop wasting peoples money.
