An open warrant for the arrest of the Nuwara Eliya Deputy Mayor Tissa Seviratne has been issued by Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Sampath Hewawasam on charges of child abuse.

The suspect was absconding the Police, the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) which lodged the complaint to court said.

The children who were sent to Colombo for medical inspection were returned to their parents yesterday. The children will be produced in court on the August 26. (Shelton Hettiarachchi)
