This threat by a minor UPFA politician shows what type of persons are getting elected to positions under the proportionate representation system, and how responsible the party leaders have been in selecting candidates. It appears that highest bidder had been getting the seat.We do hope at least the next election will field persons of integrity and sound education, and not dried pumpkins, drug lords, bribe takers, rapists, etc.

It is not a great statement, it is turning a blind eye or a deaf ear to a serious statement by a man calling for Civil Disobedience.

Police should go after this unscrupulous person and arrest him for this degrading remark. Only release after serving at least two weeks in jail, and impose a heavy fine. Also give him a severe warning, if he resort to this type of tactics in the future, he will be serving rigorous imprisonment for not less than ten years.

Shows the pathetic state of law enforcement and criminal justice in our Banana Republic. In any other country, those threatening will be locked up for obstruction of justice under the emergency laws like prevention of crime/terrorism acts.

No country will ever allow its Police Force to be insulted and threatened with death by a third rate politician. It goes to the basic core of criminality. He should be charged without any reservation.

Police should not treat this so lightly, It is a serious matter when uttered at a public meeting and getting a nod from the First Son - no First Lady present there. SB said something insulting about the judiciary and he had to serve jail while this is far worse - threats of murder of the whole lot of police.
