National Freedom Front (NFF) leader MP Wimal Weerawansa was arrested by the CID a short while ago at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for possessing an invalid passport, police said.
He is to be produced in the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.

He was arrested on charges of possessing a fake passport violating the laws of the land. How can he be a political prisoner? I thank the govt. For taking positive steps to bring the culprits to book. There should be an end to this nonsense.

His EU visa is stamped on his old invalid passport. He say he has lost his renewed passport. He goes to immigration and collects another VIP passport within hours and returns to airport. Then he screams at immigration / CID using power and cowing down tactic famous for fellows with low intellect. This guy smells and is a racketeer for sure and needs to be dealt.
