A woman was injured after an explosion of a hand grenade last evening in Dorawaka area in Warakapola, police said.

Police said that the grenade had exploded while she had set fire to the trash after sweeping the garden. Police have found out a part of an exploded grenade.

The injured woman was admitted to the Kegalle hospital.

Warakapola police is conducting further investigations.
