Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa advised all the senior officers in the military and the police service that have experience of more than twenty years to write a book so that the public would know the hardships and sacrifices they made to liberate the country from terrorism.
He was speaking at the ceremony of launching the book ‘The Rise and the Fall of the LTTE’ authored by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mahinda Balasuriya.
“Experience should be used to write a book after a prolong investigation. There are so many incidents which took place during the war that the public is eager to know about”, he said.
He thanked IGP Balasuriya for taking the first step and showing the way to other senior officers in the military and the police as it is the first post war book to be launched. (Supun Dias)

Funny....This will never be a true story if they write a book. And in this book they will have have to include chapters such as ... Chapter 1 . Praba and LTTE,
Chapter 2 Army and other forces
Chapter 3. Last part of the war
Chapter 4 Winning of war
Chapter 5 SF and his prison life

Good initiatives, but IGP with lack of war experience unlike military men, must have compiled all paper articles on war. But of course good suggestion by secretary defence. These experiences are priceless, will be beneficial for the future generation. But SF name speaks louder.
