12-year-old boy goes to police against father

A 12 year-old-boy, had lodged a complaint at the Bandaragama Police Station against his father, who he said has been allegedly assaulting his mother, sister and himself for a long time.

However, the boy who arrived at the station in his uniform, said his father did not beat his older sister. Police said they would summon the parents to the police today for an inquiry. (Bimal Shaman Jayasinghe)

There is a Domestic violence Act in the country. One problem is Police not using the act and trying to reconcile the parties which usually lead to more serious consequences. Please do your duty correctly rather than sending videos to media.

there are some parents who beat their children and never been punished for their child abuse. It exists among Sri Lankans.
