Parliament Nov. 28 (Daily Mirror)- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said he invited former sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe to the Opposition Leader's office to discuss removing Sri Lanka's cricket ban and not for any political conspiracy.

The Opposition Leader told Parliament that he was having a discussion with the Indian High Commissioner and that he invited Roshan Ranasinghe also to the occasion to see if there are any possibilities of getting the intervention of the High Commissioner to remove the ban on Sri Lanka Cricket.

"I discussed with the Indian High Commissioner and Roshan Ranasinghe to remove the cricket ban and not to plan any political conspiracy. Roshan Ranasinghe is now accused of meeting the Opposition Leader. The other Cabinet Ministers also come and meet me. They do not come to engage in any political conspiracies," he said.

The ban can only be lifted by ICC. Indian High Commissioners and local ministers cannot remove bans. With ICC it is not who you know, it is how you play the game (of cricket)!

With ICC is not who you know but just what BCCI wants. With the huge surplus funds and knowing they have largest spectators to draw the advertisers, BCCI controls everything. that is why our President spoke and apologised to a lowly individual called Jay Shah the Secretary. Would a President of a country speak to a common man in a foreign country and apologise.
