The people who cannot afford to buy the cooking gas almost depending on the kerosene oil. Further the boat owners who engaged in the day fishing are also using the kerosene oil to power their light boats.Normally They are mainly doing two types fishing known as angling and netting. Most the fish consumers are willing to buy the day fish as they believe that it is fresh Therefore while increasing the price of kerosene oil at once It will badly affect the lively hood of the innocent fishermen

Nearly 400% increase? Thieves and looters living in Col 7 would not care. Ordinary folk who paid their taxes and earned an honest living will pay a heavy price.

kerosene is the main fuel for farmers in the north and east and most of the fishermen for board all over the country. Govt. should introduce a system to sell kerosene at a concessionary price for farmers and fisherman.
Increase the price of petrol and recover the loss on kerosene concessionary price.

Kanchana obviously wants this too Monday, 22 August 2022 11:12 AM
The minister obviously knows about it, and may have pushed the CPC to cut back on the loss from it.
But being a fair society we should allow for lower priced kerosene for those who have no other better cost options.
Where is the Namal Rajapaksa promoting Minister Kanchana Wijesekera now?
