All party conference on reconciliation begins

All party conference on reconciliation commenced a short while ago at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Prime Minister, Speaker, Opposition Leader and party leaders representing parliament were present on this occasion.

We are all well aware of the elephant in the room. Two sections in one country. Immediately SL currency value will sky rocket, dollars will pour in, tourism will go up, SL will become a land of peace, prosperity and splendour. However can the majority understand it. Send few representatives to UK TO STUDY 4 states in one United Kingdom, USA 51 states in one USA and across INDIA 29 states in one Republic of India.

All Party Leaders including SLPP must sign a promise at this meeting to finalize the approval of the new bill by a certain date. If not this will only be an eyewash.

We need urgent resolution. In 30 years time the fusion technology will be well established and the Arabs will revert to being amorous to their camels because they won’t have any money to import our damsels. Off course there could be a silver lining in a prosperous Tamil Nadu. In 30 years our damsels could compete with Nepalis maids for work in very prosperous Indian or China households

Algeria was considered part of Metropolitan France. The French fought wars to keep it. Eventually it became too costly to keep and De Galle took a stateman decision to let it go. Similarly we need a statesman to resolve our ethnic rights issues or forever our Buddhist failed paradise will be the poor sick beggar man in South Asia or maybe Asia and the world.

It has begun and it will also end without any agreement. Any political party supporting any concessions for the minority will lose a future election. As long as all citizens irrespective of race and faith are treated alike and with dignity, it would be difficult to see progress in this land.

Srimathi, I am glad you understand the meaning of missing persons whose parents and siblings want to know what happened to them (if killed how were they killed and who buried them)! This is why we all need a reconciliation process.
