Another MP tests Covid positive

State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera tested positive for COVID 19 today and thus became the fifth Member of Parliament to become positive within the last ten days.

Mr. Ranaweera confirmed that he tested positive today.

The other four members who were tested positive were Minister Mahindananda Altuthgamage, Rohana Dissanayake, Janaka Tissa Kuthiarachchi and SJB MP Dilip Wedaararchchi.

Serjeant-at -Arms Narendra Fernando told Daily Mirror that efforts are being made to determine whether Mr. Ranaweera had come to Parliament on Friday August 6 2021 and if so as to whom he has had contact on that day. (YP & AS)
